Our Story
Hi friends!
It is truly a dream to be here. This blog is intended to serve YOU, to help and support you in your own healing and transformational journey. We cannot wait to share with you what we have learned through our own healing journeys and work towards building an incredible tribe of women who are aligned in their purpose, who are embodied and connected to themselves, and who are working towards a life of more fulfillment, abundance, joy, healing & health, connection, community and faith. We believe in a God who puts a unique and individual purpose in each and every one of us, who loves us more than we could ever possibly know or understand, and who created us to be uniquely and beautifully different from each other. A God who created us with a piece of Him in our spirit – who gifted us with a miraculous capacity to heal. We really are all healers – not only of ourselves, but of each other. We feel so inspired to share this good news with all of you and hopefully ignite a deep knowing within yourself that this healing ability is within you, too.
So... how did we get here? It’s pretty ironic now that we are starting an entire business together revolving around sisterhood, given the fact that growing up we had quite a dysfunctional and messy relationship. We really struggled with comparison and jealousy, and had a really hard time nurturing an authentic sisterhood dynamic due to our own insecurities and pride getting in the way. I specifically remember my mom looking at us (frequently) and saying out loud, “you girls will never be friends”. And quite honestly, I agreed with her. It did seem like a pretty out-there concept, being friends with my little sisters. It wasn’t until I went to college and there was distance between us that we finally started to realize how blessed we really were.
Covid was for us (and a lot of you, I’m sure) a real turning point for all of us girls. Before Covid, we had an awareness of the corruption in the medical system, political system, etc., but it wasn’t really until 2020 that we understood how real and deep that reality was. In hindsight, Covid was such a positive catalyst in our lives – it is what brought us to finding our ultimate passion, our purpose, and our sisterhood in this lifetime. Covid also brought us girls to Christ, which was also one of the most impactful and life changing moments in all of our lives; that decision was and continues to be a HUGE part of our story and how we got to where we are today.
After a few twists and turns post-Covid era, us girls had the idea to start a podcast and online business called the Feminine & Fertile Tribe. December 31, 2023 we sat at my parent’s kitchen counter and made an Instagram account, took pictures, drafted several different posts, ordered podcast equipment, and planned out our vision. We were off to the races – or so we thought. Roughly two weeks later, Ellie and Lauren texted me and said that they both felt as though our idea should wait... that it just wasn’t the right time to start something like this. And to be completely honest, I was pretty upset! I didn’t understand their change of heart and reasoning as to why we should put this project on hold. What better time is there than the present? When would we ever have more time? How could it NOT be the right time? These were the questions that were haunting me as we all decided to take a step back.
I’ve learned many lessons this year, but one significant lesson I’ve learned is that life is not predictable... And as a recovering planner and (slight) control-freak, this has been one of the tougher lessons for me to surrender to. In just three weeks after starting Feminine & Fertile Tribe, the most unthinkable and unimaginable thing happened to our family. Ellie had begun to experience bizarre symptoms following a massage that led her to coming back home from college late January. And by February 6, she was diagnosed with metastatic Stage IV rhabdomyosarcoma that Western doctors had deemed, “terminal”. Coming from an extremely health-conscious background, this diagnosis made ZERO sense. Ellie was a previously very healthy 21-year old with her whole life ahead of her... How does someone go from being in seemingly perfect health to a life-threatening diagnosis in a matter of weeks?
Thankfully, our family has always been very skeptical of Western medicine and their approach to health and healing. I distinctly remember having conversations around the dinner table as a teenager about alternative cancer treatments and collectively deciding that if any of us were to battle a cancer diagnosis, we would seek alternative therapies first. We NEVER believed that cancer was a death sentence, contrary to our culture and society's belief. We have always held such reverence for the human body, and have known that through food, energy healing, mindset and belief, and prayer, we can overcome nearly anything.
Made to Heal was birthed out of this miraculous healing story. Through Ellie’s journey, we directly witnessed how self-healing our bodies really are when it is supported in the right way. We witnessed God’s glory and healing power within us. We saw His promises fulfilled. And our lives will NEVER be the same because of it. It has become our purpose, passion and mission on this earth. To share, to inspire, and to ignite a fire within us all because we ALL have the capacity to heal. We each hold this incredible and miraculous power within our bodies and within our spirits. And when we wake up to this truth, miracles happen all around us and within us. And when we embrace and integrate this healing through sisterhood, community and connection, we become unstoppable.
So sister, welcome to Made to Heal. A tribe and sisterhood that is here to give you hope, inspiration, love and support through your own healing journey of mind, body and spirit. We feel so blessed to be here, and to be sharing this incredible story and gift with you all. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us, you, and humanity.
With love,
The Schneider Girls
